Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Hajj is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a deeply meaningful act of worship for Muslims. It is a sacred journey to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, performed during the designated days of Dhul-Hijjah by Muslims who are physically and financially able to undertake it.
Hajj reminds us of our devotion to Allah (SWT), our unity as one Ummah, and our shared commitment to faith, humility, patience, and righteousness.
Hajj is an obligation once in a lifetime for every Muslim who meets the required conditions of ability.
During Hajj, Muslims from around the world gather in worship, dressed in simple garments that reflect equality and humility before Allah (SWT). Regardless of nationality, language, wealth, or social status, all pilgrims stand together in devotion to their Creator.
Hajj teaches us to strengthen our faith, practice patience, seek forgiveness, and renew our commitment to living according to Islamic teachings.
Preparing for this sacred journey involves spiritual, practical, and physical preparation. Before traveling, pilgrims should seek reliable Islamic guidance and familiarize themselves with the rites of Hajj.
Important preparations include:
Ihram: Entering the sacred state of pilgrimage with the appropriate intention and observing its requirements.
Tawaf: Circling the Ka’bah seven times as part of the rites of worship.
Sa’i: Walking between Safa and Marwah in remembrance of the devotion of Hajar (AS).
Standing at Arafat: A central rite of Hajj, when pilgrims gather at Arafat in prayer, remembrance, and supplication to Allah (SWT).
Muzdalifah and Mina: Completing the relevant rites according to the prescribed schedule, including the stay at Muzdalifah and the stoning rituals at Mina.
Completion of Hajj: Completing the remaining prescribed rites in accordance with authentic Islamic guidance.
Pilgrims should learn the detailed requirements from reliable Islamic sources or a qualified Hajj instructor, as the sequence and rules vary according to the circumstances and scholarly guidance followed.
